The accumulated experience in the electronics market for 50 years has led to the actual Transmission Division of MIER COMUNICACIONES, S.A., a consolidated leader in the development of radio frequency professional transmission equipment within the Spanish and international markets.
The Transmission Division carries out the design, development, manufacturing, full installation and maintenance of professional solutions for TV transmission, terrestrial digital radio and television networks, cellular telephony or data through radiolinks.
This line of products covers a wide range of transmission equipment in UHF and VHF bands to satisfy the broadcaster needs in terms of coverage with vastly field-proven technology.
The MICRO series in transmitter or transposer configuration with low power (1Wps, 2Wps or 5Wps) have been specifically conceived to efficiently solve the problem of rural areas coverage or "gap-filling" by transmitting a mono or multichannel analogue TV signal coming from either satellite or terrestrial sources. MIER COMUNICACIONES can proudly state to be a proven expert in providing the most adequate solutions in this field.
The COMPACT series are low and medium power equipment which can deliver signal from 5Wps and can be supplied in a large variety of configurations (transmitter/transposer, terrestrial/satellite reception, UHF/VHF, multichannel) thanks to their flexible design and high compactness.
The broad accumulated experience of MIER COMUNICACIONES in the conception of analog TV transmission equipment, and the fact of being involved since the beginning in the European Standard of terrestrial digital TV (DTT), have allowed us to be the first Spanish company with demonstrated capacity to integrate digital treatment centres and digital TV transmission signals, in accordance with ETS 300 744 specification.
As for transmission equipment properly said, MIER COMUNICACIONES
can proudly state that has become the first European company in supplying
a single-frequency TV transposer (gap-filler) for a Deutsche Telekom's DTT
network in Berlin in order to cover IFA exhibition in August'97. In this sense, the digital TV transmission includes transmitters, repeaters and gap-fillers with an installed base of 300 equipment in 15 countries.
Parallel to the digital TV line (DTT), MIER COMUNICACIONES has
the expertise and proven capability in DIGITAL RADIO technology (audio-data
transmission) to integrate and set-up service digital treatment centres
and DIGITAL RADIO signals transmission, in accordance with ETS 300 401 specification.
Along 2000 and 2001 MIER COMUNICACIONES has delivered a complete turn-key network including 69 transmitters and 18 head-ends.
Following this line of products, MIER COMUNICACIONES has developed both indoor and outdoor mobile phone repeaters. Their high features let them cover dark zones as well as extending cell coverage offering high quality levels.
Outdoor mobile phone repeaters avoid the installation of a fixed station (BTS) with 2W output power per channel in 2-channel configuration up to 8 channels in the GSM band. This equipment can also be supervised remotely from a PC, which leads to a minimum need for maintenance.
Indoor mobile phone repeaters enhance indoor coverage in dark zones within a geographical area covered by a fixed station (BTS) in the GSM band. Their low cost, reduced size and easy installation make them ideal for coverage improvement in offices buildings, commercial rooms, industrial plants, hotels
MIER
COMUNICACIONES designs and manufactures electronic products for radiofrequency
signals distribution (television, satellite television and radio) within
master antenna TV distribution systems (SMATV). More than 7.000.000 TV sockets have been manufactured by our production line, in both versions, narrow band (5-860 MHz) and broadband (5-2.200 MHz). Their different isolation degrees allow either cascade or star structures.
The design and manufacturing of passive components and antennas has been one of the main activities of MIER COMUNICACIONES, since its foundation. The vast experience achieved in turn-key installations supply has led to original designs which allow us to reach complete transmission solutions.
MIER COMUNICACIONES offers a wide range of passive components and antennas with high features and quality:
- Symetrical and assymetrical power splitters, input signal splitters, band stop filters, band pass filters, multiplexers with 3 dB couplers and multiplexers with filters and star point multiplexers.
- UHF 2 and 4 dipoles radiating panels.
- Yagi antennas for TV professional installations and UHF radiolinks.
MIER COMUNICACIONES offers a wide range of radiolinks to cover data transmission as well as analogue TV signals (audio and video).
The range includes PDH and SDH links from 1 GHz to 30 GHz and covering data rates from 2 Mbps up to 155 Mbps (STM-1). Its compactness and design gives them a high reliability, increased by the possibility of using 1+1 configurations.
MIER COMUNICACIONES offers full turn-key service including system design, supply, installation, set up as well as monitoring system.
The vast experience gained by MIER COMUNICACIONES in the installation and maintenance of digital and analogue radiolinks throughout several years is the best guarantee for a high availability of the radiolinks systems.
MIER COMUNICACIONES offers the full range of elements necessary
to build a complete network of digital TV such as static and statistic
multiplexing, modulation, transmission and reception of digital TV (video,
audio and data).
The quality of all these elements guarantees the maximum use of the transmission
band, including all kind of services with the best quality even working
at low transmission rates.
Coverage in signal shadow areas has very different requirements from those
satisfied by traditional transmitters and transposers: easy installation
allowing the installation with a minimum cost, compactness, weather
resistance to minimise shelter-building costs and finally, a low cost-per-capita
ratio so that coverage is feasible in sparsely populated areas. 
MIER COMUNICACIONES has had long experience designing and installing
this type of systems because up to now over 3.000 micro-transposers have
been supplied. As a result of this experience, it has been possible to develop the series of microtransposers belonging to the "analogue Transmission" line, which are made up of
multichannel transmitters and Micro transposers
as well as the necessary passive elements and infrastructures.
The source of success has been the conception of an integral system because
the design of all the components (micro-transposers, antennas and infrastructure)
has been performed altogether. What is more, most of the above mentioned
3.000 installations have been supplied by MIER COMUNICACIONES as
a turn-key solution
